Content: On January 31, 2026, the Market Construction Working Committee of the China Geosynthetics Engineering Association held its first (expanded) meeting of 2026 in Beijing. Association Chairman Zhou Shiguang, Vice Chairman Zhu Hong, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General Yang Guangqing attended the meeting, along with over 50 people including Yang Baohe, Chairman of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Secretary-General Zhao Bo, and other committee members.

The meeting focused on hearing the Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development's 2025 work summary report, and reviewed and approved the 2026 work plan, the "China Geosynthetics Industry Self-Discipline Convention (Draft)," and the adjustment plan for the members of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. The meeting also announced the list of companies that had signed the "China Geosynthetics Industry Self-Discipline Commitment."

In his concluding remarks, Association Chairman Zhou Shiguang emphasized that the industry self-discipline convention should be both normative and guiding, defining bottom lines and red lines while also reflecting positive incentives for industry development. He pointed out that 2026 is a crucial year for the association to deepen its governance capacity building. Starting from this meeting, we should translate consensus into action, promote the construction of a transparent, fair and orderly market environment, and help the geosynthetics industry achieve sustainable and high-quality development.
